The American Flag Over the Green Monster at Fenway Park on Opening Day. 4/8/11.
(Picture taken by ME!)
I had never been able to get tickets to opening day before. The year before I got tickets for the 2nd game, but Opening Day still eluded me. This year, I didn’t get tickets for opening day either, but my awesome friend did and invited me. It might have been flippin’ cold, but well worth it. And to top it all off, the Sox won….against those pesky Yankees!
Jason Varitek actually smiling. It doesn’t happen all that often.
This picture was taken during BP before the game on 4/9/11.
If I’m the GM of the Red Sox I’m not bringing Jason Varitek back. I think his ride should be over with the team, but that doesn’t mean I don’t absolutely adore him and what he has meant to the team.
Big Papi and Lil’ Papi.
This pic was also taken during BP on 4/9/11.
This is a guy I would bring back. I think he’s the best DH in the business and also a presence that the Red Sox need. Also, that kid…too adorable for words. I wanna see him playing out there at Fenway for years to come.
Mariano Rivera during BP on 4/9/11.
Gotta respect him. He’s the best in the business. He threw a ball up to a fan…and much to my happiness, I made a joking comment to him which made him laugh and flip his glove up in jest at me. Yeah, he plays for the enemy but he’s MARIANO F’IN RIVERA.
This photo is of my Red Sox bracelets. I wear them to almost every single game I go to. This picture was taken on 4/10/11 before I threw them on and headed off to Fenway Park to watch the Sox play the Yankees.
We’re #1!
This was also a pic during BP on 4/10/11. Red Sox please bring Papi back…for many reasons, but one is that I am done seeing that adorable child running around during BP.
Nick Swisher before the game on 4/10/11….in our bullpen. I’ll always remember overhearing his conversation and not putting the pieces together until later. He also smiled and waved at my friend and I when we said we followed him on the twitter.
J.D. Drew. I’ll always love you. Drew Crew for LIFE! And Ron Johnson….he’ll be missed. I was shocked to see the Sox choose to not bring him back. 4/10/11.
