I signed up for a 30 Day Fitness challenge…which is awesome. It’s committing to eating healthy and working out everyday…and working towards your fitness goals.
The rules for the fitness challenge are that you have to schedule your workout everyday, get it done, eat your food within your plan and calories and drink a protein shake.
I initially wasn’t going to sign up since I knew I was going out of town on a mini vacation from Thursday to Sunday. How is that going to work…..
Well, you make it work.
I missed a workout on Wednesday….since I was running errands and getting things done for my mini vacation, however…I am also supposed to have one rest day during the week and planned on having it during one of my vacation days. Instead…Wednesday it is.
I rocked it while I was on vacation. I’ll give a run down of those 4 days:
Thursday: I went to a cupcake party. LOL. I went to a Sox charity event that was selling cupcakes…while on a fitness challenge. I bought 4 cupcakes (money went to charity) and ate half a cupcake. I gave the other 3 away to a friend to take home to her and her mom. I got the great idea of eating 1/2 from my fitness coach. I also went on a 90 minute power walk through the malls in Boston and went to the baseball game that night and walked all over. Rocked it.
Friday: I came into town for the game and left about an hour early so that I could go for another 60 minute walk before the game. I walked and walked and walked. I could definitely feel my legs were tired by the end of the day. Phew. I also ate everything on plan…and at the park only got one of those soft pretzels and I don’t think I even finished it.
Saturday: I went to brunch with some friends to celebrate a friend coming home. I got into town a couple hours early and didn’t another power walk around the malls (it’s air conditioned in there, so you can really truck it and no sweat up a storm). At brunch there were lots of yummy items on the menu. Lots of alcohol too. I got a healthy plate of hummus, veggies and chips. It was a huge plate and I ate all the veggies, but left lots of chips and some hummus. I had enough to share with a friend at brunch. Also….no alcohol.
Sunday: I went to a local farmer’s market/food truck event in the morning. There were a bajillion yummy food trucks there including my favorite grilled cheese food truck. I wanted some grilled cheese. I wanted some cupcakes. I wanted lots and lots of yumminess. I made good choices though…and had some healthy low fat fro yo with fresh fruit on it. I also got lots of walking in on that day…walking to and from the shindig and then the ball park.
Basically. I’m awesome. Just thought I’d share.
And on a week where I was on vacation for 4 days and surrounded by cupcakes and ballpark food, I lost 2 lbs. WOOT!
