Last year, I went to watch the Run to Home Base race at Fenway in May…and decided then and there that I would sign up and run in it in 2012. The race is a 9K, which is 6 miles and a smidge. You also had to agree to raise at least $1000 to enter the race.

So, with a few awesome friends…I signed up this year. I knew I could run/jog the 9K…but the idea of raising the $1000 was terrifying me. I’m not great at asking people for money…even when it is a GREAT FANTASTIC AWESOME cause. So, I sheepishly asked people for money. And then got a wee bit more bold.
Well, I am HAPPY to report that I have raised the $1000 and then some. I plan on keeping on raising money right up until the race in May. I’d love to have at least $1500 raised since it is such an amazing cause.
A huge HONKIN’ amazing THANK YOU to those who donated to me. I have been overwhelmed by the generosity and support of my friends and family…and some complete strangers. It’s really been humbling and reminded me what fantastic people I have in my life.
I’ll be running for the veterans. I’ll be running for me. And, I’ll be running for each and every person who donated to me. You all are completely amazing!!
If you haven’t donate yet and you want to, click here. I’ll appreciate every little bit.
